Frances “Toots” Philips, 92 of Daugherty Twp., passed away Tuesday September 19, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born July 1, 1925 in Beaver Falls, she is the daughter of the late James and Mary (Petralyk) Soriano.  Toots was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School.  She retired from Beaver County Community College and Bell Telephone and was a member of the Bell Telephone pioneers.  Her love was her family, church, bingo, casinos and waiting for those four daily phone calls from her daughter, Judi, sister; Esty; sister-in-law; Nancy Jane and her niece, Linda Sue.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Eugene Soriano; brother-in-law; Joseph “Porky” Soltesz, and a nephew Joey Soltesz.

Surviving are her loving husband of 64 years, Robert “Ears” Philips, son; Robert L. “Flip” Philips, Fombell, a daughter, Judith L. Rose, Vero Beach, Fl.,  brother and a sister-in-law; Roger (Sophie) Soriano, West Mayfield, a sister, Eleanor “Esty” Soltesz, Zelienople, two grandchildren, Joshua Robert Philips, Justin L. Philips and his wife Elissa, three great grandchildren, Ashlee, Rocco, and Emilia Philips, sister-in-law Mary Catherine Soriano, New Castle, sister-in-law Nancy and her husband Harry Norton, New Brighton, several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Friends will be received Thursday from 3-7pm in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, New Brighton where prayer will be held Friday at 10:00am followed by her Mass of Christian burial at 10:30am in Holy Family Parish, New Brighton.  Rev. Fr. Robert Miller, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.

In lieu of flowers the family wish memorials be made in her name to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree, Rd. Wexford, PA 15090
