Joan P. (Carlton) Turkovich

Joan P. (Carlton) Turkovich, 80, of New Brighton, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls.
Born July 15, 1937, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Thomas Carlton and Marie (Miller) Carlton Murphy. She was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Joan was retired from human resources department of the VA health system, where she had worked for over thirty years. She had been a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Patty (Bill) Miller, Tunkhannock, Pa.; two sons, Robert M. (Susie) Turkovich, New Brighton, and Ray Turkovich, Lahaini, Hawaii; 12 grandchildren; nine     greatgrandchildren; one sister, Shirley (Tom) Noel, Queen Creek, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and their families, cousins and her former brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who remained friends to the end.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Ray Murphy and former husband, Robert Turkovich.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of blessing service at 6 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com,  with the Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.
Cremation will take place after the service.
The family wishes to thank Lakeview Personal Care, Providence Care Center and Grane Hospice for the excellent care she received. 
In lieu of flowers, the family wish memorials be made in her name to Grane Hospice, 260 Alpha Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
