Kathleen L. “Kate” Nicholson, 86, of New Brighton, passed away Friday January 19, 2018 at McGee Women’s Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born August 19, 1931 in Wheatland, PA a daughter of the late Walter Rohrbaugh and Harriet Berbig. She loved quilting and her family. Kate’s passion in life was sewing and she was a founding member of the Piece Makers quilting group. She had worked at the Beaver County Times, the former Fashion Hosiery in Beaver Falls and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William J. “Buck” Nicholson Jr., 1996, her son Gary Nicholson, 2013 and one brother Wayne Rohrbaugh.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Jody and Joe Wiley, Wampum, two granddaughters Krista (Brandon) Ashton, New Castle, Keri Wallace, Wampum, one grandson Nicholas Nicholson, one sister Linda (Rich) Tooch, New Brighton, several nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Monday from 5:00 to 8:00pm and Tuesday from 10:00am until time of blessing service at 11:00am in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.

Private interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
