Larry J. Beighey, 67, of New Brighton, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 11, 2018, at his home.
Born March 9, 1951, in Rochester, he was a son of the late Walter C. and Marjorie (Wadding) Beighey. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and had a keen eye for business ventures throughout his life. He was a strong-willed man who was never afraid to speak up or get his hands dirty for others. He spent over four decades raising hell before his life was changed by a blue-eyed baby he named Ben. The last 23 years of his life were devoted to his beloved son, being a father, mentor, friend. He shared his love of hunting, fishing and Jeeps with his son, brothers and many friends. He recently rode his motorcycle from New Brighton to the Arctic Circle and back home and enjoyed going to bike week in Daytona and Sturgis.
Surviving are his son, Benjamin W. Beighey and his fiancée Mallorie Rowlands, Industry; his grandchildren, Finlay, Ewan and Bowen; his siblings, Thomas (Gloria) Beighey, Beaver Falls; Karen (Ken) Nicol, Brighton Twp.; Walter Beighey Jr., Zelienople; Karl (Sarah Hurrelbrink) Beighey, New Brighton, and Eric (Sue) Beighey, Brighton Twp., and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Larry spent his life in the company of his family and cherished friends, always up for an adventure. He will be greatly missed by most, never forgotten by all.
At his request, there will be no public services. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
