Paul W. Schmidley, 59, of Patterson Heights, formerly of New Brighton, was welcomed into God's kingdom Saturday March 18, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born July 18, 1957 in Rochester the son of the late William H. and Sarah (Witherow) Schmidley. Paul was a proud union electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. Union Local 712. He enjoyed time spent coaching his children in softball and baseball. His greatest joy in life was spoiling his only grandaughter and best friend, Alexia.

Surviving are his daughter Leah Schmidley and his granddaughter Alexia Wagurak, Patterson Heights, his son Alex Schmidley, Ambridge, Leah’s boyfriend Michael Yablinsky, Patterson Heights, Paul’s girlfriend Mary Beth Curran and her daughter Amanda Curran, two brothers Harry (Gwen) Schmidley Rochester, Jim Schmidley, Honolulu, HI, five sisters Sandy Shore, Wampum, Kathy Fasnaught, Rochester, Linda Reeder, Rochester, Lori (Shawn) McCready, Las Vegas, NV, Barb Schmidley, Rochester, close uncle Ken (Leahan) Bock, New Brighton, close cousins Dub Davis, Beaver, Ted Robinson, Beaver Falls, many more cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, especially Rock, his union brothers and his canine best friend “London.”
Paul was preceded in death by his stepmother, Betty Schmidley.

Friends will be received Wednesday 1-3 & 5pm until time of funeral service at 6:30pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton with the Rev. Donald W. MacNeil officiating.

Inurnment will take place later in Beaver Cemetery.
