Peter W. Kalcevic Sr., 85, of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Brighton Rehab & Wellness Center, Brighton Twp., surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 12, 1932, in Fallston, a son of the late George and Josephine (Czarnecky) Kalcevic. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army. Peter was a retired crane man for the former J&L Steel Co. and then was a maintenance man for HAP Enterprises for several years. He was Lutheran by faith.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, JoAnn (Terracio) Kalcevic; two sons, Tim (Leigh) Kalcevic, Daugherty Twp., and Pete Kalcevic Jr., New Brighton; four grandchildren, Amanda (Colby) Irwin, Samantha Kalcevic, Jessica Kalcevic and Steven Kalcevic; one brother, Rudy (Shawn) Kalcevic, Trenton, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Gaynell Romanchak and Terry and her husband Mark Quigley, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George Kalcevic and his wife Josephine; one sister, Frances Misik and her husband Joe, and one brother-in-law, George Romanchak. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Whalen officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. Members of the V.V.A. #862 will meet at 11 a.m. at the cemetery to provide military honors.
