Rebecca J. Blair
Rebecca J. Blair, 98, of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls.
Born July 19, 1919, in Beaver, a daughter of the late William Stewart and Blanche (Story) Blair, she was a veteran of World War II serving with the WAC's in the U.S. Army with the 3341 Signal Battalion in Paris, France. She was a graduate of New Brighton High School and Geneva College. Becky then taught for 30 years at the Riverside School District. She was a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church, a life member of the N.E.A. and P.S.E.A. and the New Brighton Historical Society. She had also worked at Rosalind's Candy and Standard Horse Nail Co., both in New Brighton. Becky was an avid traveler during her summer breaks going to many countries around the world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Blair and Sara Jo Whitmore; one nephew, William Blair Logan and his wife Bobbi, and one great nephew, Mark E. Logan.
Surviving are one great nephew and his wife, Paul and Lynda Logan; two great-great nephews, Everett Blair Logan and Jake Robert Logan, and one great-great-great niece, Myla Ann, all of Peninsula, Ohio.
Friends will be received Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service 12 noon in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with the Rev. Scott Berkley officiating.
Private interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
