Violet 'Nana' (Hayden) Omogrosso

Violet Omogrosso, 84, of College Hill, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Heritage Valley, Beaver. Precious in the sight
Born May 23, 1927, in Woodlawn, PA, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Catherine (Hayden) Radosovich. Violet was a member of St. Philomena Parish, Catholic Daughters of America, Gold Star Mothers, Blue Star Mothers, and was an auxiliary member of the Beaver Falls S.O.I and Elks. She was a past senior regent of the Beaver Falls Moose Lodge, and traveled around as an advocate for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She was loved and known by many as Nana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rudolph J. Vrankovich; her second husband, Joseph "Smokey" Omogrosso, and two sons, Nicholas S. Vrankovich, and Joseph I. Omogrosso.
Surviving are her four children, Natalia Blinn, Rudy Vrankovich Jr., Mark A. Omogrosso, and Dorothy Kachur; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Omogrosso; seven grandchildren, Matthew Vrankovich and his wife Erin, Jonathan Vrankovich, Crystal and Joe N. Omogrosso, Gabriel Kachur and his wife Jessica, Stephen, and Marissa Kachur, and eight great-grandchildren, Matthew D., Emma, Ava, and Nicholas Vrankovich, Reagen and Jesse James Vrankovich, Jayden Character, and Eliana Kachur.
Private family services were held Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A forty day memorial mass will be held.
Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
