Betty Jane Van Tassel

Betty J. Van Tassel, 86, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born January 9, 1933, in Beaver Falls, she is the daughter of the late Alfred and Stella (Verrett) Wadatz.  Betty was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Brighton.  She loved playing cards with her friends and bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Van Tassel; son, William E. Van Tassel and two brothers, Ed and Albert Wadatz.
Surviving are three daughters, Roberta (William) Jones, South Heights, Dianna (John) Young, Beaver Falls and Valerie (David) Circle, New Brighton; sister, Shirley Clear; six grandchildren, Tracy (Bolek) Kulesza, Melanie (Jon) Houston, Amy (Shon) Tomnay, Matt (Stacy) Circle, Krystyna (William) Dilworth and Brian Circle; fourteen great grandchildren, Jon Thomas, Mary Jane, Sadie and Charles Houston, Brian, Derek, and Jack Curry, Tininty and Alexia Kulesza, Evan, Garrett and Natalie Circle and Penny and Abraham Dilworth and her dog, BJ.
Friends will be received Friday, July 5, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Angela T. Smith officiating.
Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Suite 201, Monaca, Pa 15061.
