Debbie Leigh Masters
Formerly of New Brighton
Debbie Leigh Masters, 63, of Houston, Texas entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Vitas Hospice in Conroe, Texas, after a valiant six month battle with breast cancer. She was born on May 9, 1955, in New Brighton. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Klear) and Robert Ferris and Gail Masters.
Debbie has lived in Houston for the last 37 years where the last 20 she worked for the Women's Hospital of Texas.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur and Thelma Klear; sister, Darla J Brown (2010); brother-in-law, Jay S Bonovitch (2015) and niece, Shannon R. Bonovitch (2015).
Debbie is survived by her brother, James (Patty) Masters of Monroe, Oregon; two special sisters, Kathy Bonovitch of New Brighton and Robin (John) Marchitelli of East Rochester; her goddaughter and niece Samantha Bonovitch of New Brighton, and many other special nieces and nephews. Also her partner of 38 years, Ross Bartholomay.
Debbie graduated from New Brighton High School where she was active in volleyball, basketball and later a fantastic softball player. Debbie's greatest legacy is the love she had for her family. She saw the best in everyone and had a smile that would light up a room. Her passing will leave a void in all who knew her. Debbie's wishes were to be cremated. A special memorial service will be held for her family at a later date.
