Devin Tyler Mammone, 22, of New Brighton, left this world too soon and flew home to the Kingdom of God after a severe asthma attack on January 11, 2020 at AGH Pittsburgh.
Born September 8, 1997 at Ellwood City Hospital, he was the son of Alisa Powell (Mammone) and Wayne Powell Jr., Matthew and Miranda Graham, and Jay Funkhouser II.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Jay Funkhouser III, Leigha Funkhouser, Kaden Powell, Chase Graham and Dash Graham, grandparents, Richard and Lorra Mammone, Janice Engle, Carole Funkhouser, Frank and Terri Cottone, Maryann Powell, his girlfriend Marina Gould, uncle and aunt, Vinnie and Judie Mammone, and uncle Johnny Graham. With his extended family he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather John J. “Sonny” Graham and step-grandfathers Jay “Doc” Funkhouser, and Wayne Powell Sr.
Devin is known for his beautiful smile, big blue eyes, a hug that can warm the coldest heart, a sense of humor that can lift the room, and a pure heart of gold. Devin was extremely devoted to his family and friends, a tremendous athlete, and a hard-working young man. Devin made the choice to donate life to others for years to come. As a family we are proud knowing this thoughtless act will bring more blessings than we can fathom. We pray for the recipients in need! That said, we know that the parts of Devin we loved will continue to live on. This family loves you with all of our hearts and are proud of the young man you have become. As you fly with the angels, and others passed on before us, we know that you will be waiting for us in the Kingdom of God
Friends will be received Wednesday, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm, in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11am in the Church of the Nazarene, 417 Penn Ave, New Brighton, with Pastor Donald MacNeil officiating.
Private interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
