Edward E. “Eddie” Moldovan Sr., 86, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday December 9, 2018 at Heritage Valley Beaver, surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 5, 1932 in New Brighton, a son of the late Louis and Mary (Kralic) Moldovan. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U. S. Army and retired from Col-Fin Specialty Steel, Fallston. Eddie was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, American Legion Post #19 and was inducted into the New Brighton Sports Hall of Fame in 1979. Eddie’s greatest joy in life was his family.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years Etta (Labon) Moldovan, son and daughter-in-law Ed and Maureen Moldovan, Daugherty Twp., daughters and sons-in-law Cindy and Bobby Beer, Daugherty Twp. and Lyndy and Bill Stout, Imperial, nine grandchildren Ryan (Danielle) Beer, Danny (Liz) Moldovan, Josh (Roxanne) Beer, Katie (Matt) Montagazzi, Morgan Beer, Christian Stout, Carolyn Stout, Kolbe Stout and Connor Stout, four great-grandchildren Manny, Maya, Charlie and Eliana, one sister Doris Bobo, many nieces, nephews, friends and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers Carl, Lou, John, Dan, Blitz and Flip Moldovan and one sister Mary Ann Watterson.
Friends will be received Monday December 17, 2018 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, where prayer will be held Tuesday at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am in the Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
Members of the Veteran Honor Guard will meet Tuesday in the cemetery to provide military honors.
