Edward J. Yager, 89, of Cranberry Twp., formerly of Center Twp., passed away Saturday November 17, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver.
Born September 14, 1929 in West Aliquippa a son of the late John and Johanna (Zeger) Yager. He was retired from former J&L/LTV where he was a general supervisor. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and a former member of Elks and S.N.P.J. Ed enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He was a loving, caring and compassionate husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife Jane (Kwolek) Yager, one son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Joyce Yager, Hermitage, one daughter and son-in-law Karen and Bruce Brown, Louisville, KY, five grandchildren Keith (Janine) Yager, Justin (Jessica Mikelait) Yager, Kiley (Jon) Newton; Kindall (Ian) McWherter, Phillip Brown, one sister Kay Progar, Hopewell, several nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers John, Frank, Phillip, Louis and Stanley Yager and one sister Jean Haber.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 9:30am until time of prayers at 10:15am in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:00am in St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Center Twp.
Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Rochester
