Jobe Reese Hepler, 98, of New Brighton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 13, 2018, in his home.


Born December 10, 1919, in Tiltonsville, Ohio, a son of the late Reuben and Mary (Davis) Hepler, he was a retired night superintendent for the former St. Joe Lead Co. Jobe was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post #19, New Brighton, the Optimist Club, Beaver Falls, and Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton. He was a past president of the Beaver County Humane Society. 


He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cecilia (Bliske) Hepler, on January 1, 2010.


Surviving are his daughter, Deborah Bartolomeo, at home; one granddaughter, Tracy (Brian) Pritchard, and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Grace Pritchard, all of New Brighton.


Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of blessing service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.


Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.


Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at the cemetery to provide military honors.
