John D. 'Jack' Stewart

John D. "Jack" Stewart, 85, of Patterson Twp., formerly of New Brighton, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver.
Born September 17, 1933, in Eastvale, a son of the late William and Bessie (Klein) Stewart. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Airforce. Jack was retired from the former B&W Tubular Steel Co., where he was a foreman in the Quality Control Department. He was a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church and the F&AM Masonic Lodge of New Brighton. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and was an avid car enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Stewart in 1994; three brothers, Bill, Ron and Kenneth Gacesa; and one sister, Judy Mooney.
Surviving are one grandson and his wife, Brian and Stephanie Stewart, New Brighton; two great-grandchildren, Baylee Elizabeth and Dean John Stewart; one brother, William and his wife Nancy Stewart, W. Columbia, W.Va.; one brother-in-law, Leroy "Fat" Mooney, New Brighton; one sister-in-law Karen Gacesa, Jack's girlfriend, Carol Gigliotti, New Brighton; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. in the New Brighton United Methodist Church, 6th Avenue & 11th St., New Brighton, with the Rev. Scott Berkley officiating.
Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church to provide full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family wish memorials be made in his name to the New Brighton United Methodist Church.
