Ronald W. Cooper, Sr., 80, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 9, 2020, at this home.
Born August 12, 1939, in Orbisonia, Pa., a son of the late Daniel and Amanda (Kerlin) Cooper. He was the owner/operator of the former Beaver Valley Cash Register in Bridgewater. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He had been a member of the F&AM, UCT, Ellwood City Lions Club and Rochester VFW. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. (Harshbarger) Cooper, February 11, 2017; six brothers, Melvin, Bob, Alan, Ralph, Albert and Donald; and three sisters, Beulah Wiser, Irene Fisher and Verna Grove.
Surviving are one son, Ronald W. (Heather) Cooper Jr., Zelienople; one daughter, Rachel (Steve) Shrum, Brooklyn, Ohio; three granddaughters, Amanda and Stephanie Shrum, and Alania Cooper; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with his son-in-law, the Rev. Stephen Shrum, officiating.
Cremation will take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family wish memorials be made in his name to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001.
