Thomas J. Glaab
Thomas J. Glaab, 76, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Heritage Valley, Beaver, after a courageous battle with diabetes, coronary artery disease and cancer.
He was born April 18, 1938 in Ellwood City, a son of the late Gerard and Alice (Lindgren) Glaab. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957 to 1959 and was retired from the former B&W Tubular Steel where he worked in the sales department. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, F.O.E. #1343, United Croatian Club and American Legion, Post #19, all of New Brighton.
Surviving are his wife, Linda (Bollinger) Glaab; two daughters, Donna Lee Glaab, New Brighton; Susan Glaab LaBarbera, Pittsburgh; one son, Thomas Gerard Glaab, New Brighton; seven grandchildren, John (Nikki) Ierino, Roxanne Ierino (Ryan) Ricketts, Shannon Dougalewicz (Robert) Larkin, Amanda Dougalewicz (Joe) Flonolli, Matthew LaBarbera, Lindze Glaab and Austin Glaab; six great-grandchildren, three stepsons, Jerry (Debbie) Pribila, Eric (Megan) Collins and Sean (Temple) Collins;, two sisters, Betty Jane Huffman, Oregon and Mary Alice Clapp, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, their families and "Jaspurr" the new kitten.
At his request, there will be no viewing. Friends and family are invited to attend his blessing service Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton, with Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the cemetery.
Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the cemetery to provide military honors.
