A. "Lou" Demeter
A. “Lou” Demeter, 81, of North Sewickley passed away Thursday June 9, 2011 at home.
Born September 3, 1929 in Beaver Falls he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Emery) Cozart. Lou served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, was a member of the New Brighton American Legion, Post #19, was a member of the Holy Family Parish, New Brighton, and a graduate of Geneva College.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, David Demeter, a step father, Clifford Cozart.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years Mary Lou (Perrott) Demeter, one daughter and son-in-law; Lori and Ricardo Amesquita, New Hampshire, two grandchildren, Kelsey and Connor Benjamin.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton. Prayers will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family R.C. Church, New Brighton. Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Parish, New Brighton, PA.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Concordia Visiting Nurses and Good Samaritan Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
