Andy Krawchyk Jr., 83, of New Brighton, passed away Saturday November 21, 2015 at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beaver Falls.
Born December 8, 1931 in Ellwood City, Andy was a son of the late Andrew and Cecelia (Warcholak) Krawchyk, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He retired from the former B&W Tubular Steel Division, where he worked in the storeroom. He also enjoyed driving school bus for many years for McCarter’s and Ferguson’s bus companies, and was very popular with all the students he drove. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Orthodox Church of Beaver Falls. Andy was an avid bowler for most of his life and also enjoyed golfing and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years Ruth Ann (Evans) Krawchyk, one daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Erin Schuster, Pittsburgh, one son Richard E. Krawchyk, Indianapolis, IN, one grandson Andrew Michael (Brittney) Krawchyk, New Brighton, one granddaughter Kimberly Ann (Lee) Terrell, Beaver, one great grandson Noah Michael Krawchyk, four brothers Steve, James, John and Pete, two sisters Pearl Thellman and Tillie Berger, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Frank Krawchyk Sr, and four sisters: Helen Straka, Kathryn Hanlon, Ann Bardyn and Rose Vance.
Friends will be received today from 5-8pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton, and Tuesday from 10am until time of funeral service at 11:00am, with the very reverend Fr. Christopher Davis officiating.
Interment will take place in St Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, New Castle.
The rendering of Military Funeral Honors by an honor guard detail will take place at 12:15pm in the cemetery prior to interment.
