Ann M. (Sentak) McNees
Formerly of New Brighton
Ann M. (Sentak) McNees, 96, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.
Born January 1, 1921, in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Francis F. and Mary (Polenz) Sentak and the beloved wife of the late William H. McNees Sr. She was the loving mother of William H. Jr. and Barbara McNees, St. Augustine, Fla.; Walter and Betty, McNees, Asheboro, N.C.; Mary Ann Manzelowski and Catherine Reibold, both of Fombell. She was the adoring grandmother of Shannon McNees Wyda, Patrick McNees, Jason (Alison) McNees, Brian Bateman, Beth (Monty) Toy, David (Tara) McNees, Stephen (Janelle) McNees, Bryan Weyand and Carrie Weyand (Michael) Farrow. She was the adoring great-grandmother of Jared, Rachel, Ethen, Ava, Morgan, Josiah, Evan, Juliann, Elia, Micah, Amarissa, Eziekial, Alyssa, Taylor and Faith. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, their families and special friend, Dora Zuk.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Thomas, Walter, Robert and John; five sisters, Eva Sokol, Josephine McCarthy, Gertrude Conner and Mary Oyster, Clare Davis; two sons-in-law, Richard Manzelowski and Robert Reibold, and grandson, Robert Wyda.
Ann was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, Holy Family Gold and the New Brighton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Friends will be received Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the
Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
The family would especially like to thank Doctors Feldmeier and Prendergast, all her caregivers and staff at Passavant Retirement Community, especially Kara, Blanche, Laura, Brandy Margo, the Tionesta and Allegheny units.
