Anna Mary Douglass, 79, of New Brighton went to be with her Lord, Wednesday April 27, 2011 at Healthsouth Rehabilitation, Sewickley.

Born April 30, 1931 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Bess (Holdom) Douglass. Anna Mary was a 1948 graduate of New Brighton High school and a 1952 graduate of Geneva College. She spent her career as a educator at South Side School District. She was on the Board of Directors for the New Brighton Public Library, a member of the New Brighton Historical society, a dedicated Girl Scout Leader and Director. Anna Mary was also a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of New Brighton where she was the chairman of the church Bazaar, Chairman of the Tuesday Afternoon Circle, Church Historian which included giving tours of the stained glass scenes, a Church Deacon and Elder. She was also a generous contributer to a variety of charities and could be counted on for a generous smile in the worst of times.

Anna Mary is survived by a sister-in-law; Sue Douglass, New Brighton, four nephews Mark A, John D., Todd C. and Matthew Douglass and his wife Amy, eight great nieces and nephews, Mark, Chase, and Sage Douglass, Johnathan and his wife Arley, Ericka, Hannah, and Alaina Douglass, and Alexis A. Campagna, and one great great neice, Ashley Jordan Douglass. Two very dear friends, Lori Campagna and Rhonda Douglass.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton. Anna Mary will lie in state Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, 1199 Third Ave, New Brighton from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Her Pastor, Rev. John Dickey, officiating.

Internment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the New Brighton Public Library.
