Anthony T. 'Tony' Ciufo
Anthony T. "Tony" Ciufo, 92, of Tidioute, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.
Born April 13, 1921, in Rochester, a son of the late Frank and Frances (Zarass) Chufe, he was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Union Local #422. He was also a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose S. Ciufo, on June 1, 1997; four brothers, Carl, Mike, Lawrence and Herman, and four sisters, Josephine, Mamie, Nelly and Jeanette.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Kathie Ciufo; two grandsons, Dion Ciufo and Nathan (Nicole) Ciufo; one granddaughter, Christine (Jason) Dioguardi; five great-grandchildren, Sophie Ciufo, Nathan and Isabella Ciufo, and Johnpaul and Brooklyn Dioguardi; one sister, Viola Nesbitt; a friend, Tony France, who was like a son, and his wife Shirley France, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christine burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
