Barbara (Brockelhurst) Forbes Zahn, 85, of Patterson Twp., passed away Thursday October 13, 2016 in her home.
She was born November 23, 1930 in Chicago, IL a daughter of the late Harold and Mary Josephine (Mitchell) Brockelhurst. Barbara committed her life to the Lord on Easter of 1973 at Wildwood Chapel in Aliquippa PA and later became a member of First Assembly of God, Beaver Falls PA in October of 1984. She was involved in many ministries; Church Choir, Tribulation House, Forever Young and many Bible Studies. She faithfully prayed for her family, extended family, and adopted family. Barbara was an accomplished seamstress to financially support her family by doing jobs for neighborhood friends, Beaver Falls Fire Department, Beaver Falls High School cheerleaders, Red Cap Cleaners in Baden, at a department store in California and many charitable endeavors
.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Reginald Forbes in 1976, second husband John C. Zahn in 1998 and her brother Richard Brockelhurst.
Survived by her children: Patrick Wilbur Forbes, Manchester NH; Donald Harold Forbes, Tampa FL; Deborha Lee (Forbes) Argentine, Irondale OH; and Steven Gary Forbes, Springhill FL; Marguerite Ciganik, Beaver Falls PA; Helen Heney, Seneca SC; Thelma Brown, Clearmont FL and Charles Zahn, St. Petersburgh FL and John Hopton, Beaver Falls. Also a son-in-law, Larry Argentine and daughter-in-law Dixie (Hildebrand) Forbes. Multiple Grandchildren: Chastity Forbes, Crystal Forbes, Kelly Forbes, Shelby (Forbes) Seifert, Alexa Forbes, Lawrence Argentine, Lisa (Argentine) Guilliams, Brenda (Argentine) Davis, and Brian Argentine and a number of great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton with the Rev Paul Poole officiating.
Private interment will take place in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
