Barbara Jean (Matthews) Ferguson, 74, of New Brighton, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday June 28, 2014 at Rochester Manor.
Born August 11, 1940 in Rochester a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Tatum) Matthews. She was retired from Medical Center, Beaver, where she last worked in sterile processing and was a member of With Wings as Eagles, New Brighton.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Victoria L. and Rev. Kevin J. Lee, Daugherty Twp., Carole and Adam Arent, New Brighton, one son Kevin D. Ferguson, New Brighton, six grandchildren Jamaal, Kevin, Kenneth, Adam, Nicole and Kevin Jr., four great granddaughters Kamryn, Anaiah, Mayleona and Ava, two brothers James (Patrice) Tatum, Oceanside, CA, Willie (Marsha) Ellison, Rochester, four sisters Judy Love, Monaca, Jean Matthews, Pontiac, MI, Ireatha Dillard, Rochester and Tammy Smith, WV, devoted Bafamily friends Joan Ferguson, Kathy Arent, Jackie Goe and Patrica Luckan, her special friend Delores Anderson, Beaver Falls, devoted nephew Lenny Matthews, Midland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roosevelt Ferguson, brothers Leon “Kenny” Matthews, William C. Tatum and brother-in-law Judge Dillard.
Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton. Friday friends will be received from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am at the Lifeway Christian Fellowship, 918 7th Avenue, Beaver Falls with her son-in-law the Rev. Kevin J. Lee officiating.
Cremation will take place after services.
In lieu of flowers the family wish memorials be made in her name to With Wings as Eagles, c/o 190 Londonderry Dr., New Brighton, PA 15066
