Barbara J. Wells, 76 of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born July 3, 1944 in Sewickley, Pa; she is the daughter of the late John P. Slovick and Marie Bowland.

Our beloved Barbara, the cornerstone of her family was a hard-working woman, loved to cook for family and friends, and always gave to others before taking for herself. As hard working as she was, she had an overtly honest and witty personality keeping everyone on their toes. Always full of love, Barbara Jean has left a huge void in her absence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Wells and three brothers, John and Paul Couderc, Michael Durain.

Surviving are her children; Charles P. Mooney, Jr. and Shawn E. Mooney, both of Rochester, Colleen (Dale) Powell, New Brighton, Tracy (Sean) Kiggans, Center Twp., David (Monica) Wells, Florida, Amy (Paul) Kovalesky, Ohioville; nine grandchildren; Steven (Rachel) Powell, Samantha (Dustin) Almquist, Casey (Justin) Blinkey, Eric (Kerry) Potts, Alyssa Potts, Danny and Timmy Kovalesky, Carmen and Sienna Wells; three great granddaughters; Scarlett, Sydney, and Bristol; brother, Buddy Durain, Patterson Twp., and nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton.  Additional viewing will be held Saturday from noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.  Pastor Donald W. MacNeil, officiating. Masks and social distancing are required by the CDC in the Funeral Home.

Private interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
