Beatrice (McCarty) Barr, 72, of Beaver, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born November 20, 1938, in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Burton and Lois (Hillberg) McCarty. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was known to many as "Aunt Bea" and always ready with her cookies. She was a member of the Women's Club of Van Buren Homes.
Surviving are her husband with whom she celebrated 54 years of marriage October 25, Emerson R. Barr; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathryn and Joseph Walter, Ambridge, and Kristine Milliron, Portersville; two loving grandchildren, Bradley and Kelsey Milliron; one great-grandson, Kristopher Milliron; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Pam McCarty, North Sewickley Twp.; five brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law John, James, Charles, Donald and Ronald Barr, and Wilda McDaniels, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Barr, and grandson, Sean Milliron, in 2007.
Friends will be received today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton,

, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William B. Henry Jr. of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
