Betty (Begley) Schwartzel, 95, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Heritage Valley Beaver and was reunited with the love of her life.
Born January 24, 1920 in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Humes) Begley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William G. Schwartzel Jr. in 2005. Both were volunteers for many programs and loved square dancing. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Rody G. and Debbie Schwartzel, New Brighton; two granddaughters, Tracie (Craig) Dietz, and Melissa (Tony) Barnes, both of New Brighton; one grandson, Rody G. Schwartzel Jr. and his fiancée, Kylie Walker, E. Liverpool, OH; four great-grandchildren, Brayden Dietz, Lilly Spratt, Cameron and Hayley Barnes; three brothers, Craig (Marge) Begley, Jack (Jan) Begley, and Richard (Carol) Begley; three sisters, Millie Goodman, Ruth Lindsey, all of Vanport, and Mabel Wilson, CA, and many nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
As per her request there will be no viewing. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of blessing service at 11 a.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com.
Cremation will take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Rochester, PA.
