Brant James Evans, 58, of Freedom, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at his home.

Born April 25, 1954, in Rochester, a son of the late William Allen Sr. and Mary Alice (Hawk) Evans, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U. S. Marine Corps, Semper Fi. Brant was known for his giving heart and love of family, friends, fishing and NASCAR. He was a member of the Zelienople Sportsmen's Club, had been a coach for Freedom youth sports and had also worked at J&L Steel.

Surviving are his wife, Cheri Evans; two sons, Shaun (Ashley) Evans, Freedom, and Curtis Evans, Brighton Twp.; stepson, William (Cristal) Brandon, Freedom; stepdaughter, Christy Brandon, Freedom; grandchildren, Tyler Summerville, Chantel Brandon, Trinity Evans, Noah Brandon and Hailey Brandon; one brother, Benjamin (Karen) Evans, Freedom; sisters-in-law, Landa Evans, Darleen Lucci and Penny (Larry) Dolenak; his mother-in-law, Anne Harris; father-in-law, Gerald (Vicki) Harris; an uncle, Arthur Evans Sr.; nieces, Charlene Badamos (Jay) Norris, Melissa Reefer, Raquel (James) Pisciotti and Tonya (Mike) Huang; nephews, Mike (Melissa) Evans, Joe (Carrie) Evans, Tommy Evans, Larry (Elizabeth) Dolenak, Joe Dolenak, Marc Lucci and Eric (Mariah) Lucci; close cousin, Arthur Evans Jr.; numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and longtime friend, Thomas Schuller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pricilla Anna Reefer, and a brother, William Allen Evans Jr.

Friends will be received Saturday from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with the Rev. Larry Bettencourt, of Champion Life Church, Chippewa Twp., officiating.


Inurnment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.

The family wishes to give special thanks to VA nurses Pam, Becky, Dana and Lynn.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home to provide military honors.
