Carl Atwood Icenhour
Carl Atwood Icenhour, 69, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at his home.
Born October 1, 1943, a son of the late William and Mary (McCoy) Icenhour, Carl was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant doing three tours and giving 20 years of service to his country and a life of love to family and friends.
He will be remembered for his stubborn get it done attitude which has been instilled in all of his children and passed on to his grandchildren. He will be missed and loved always. Rest in peace and go with God.
Carl is survived by his wife, Pauline E. Icenhour; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Amy of Houston, TX, and Carl and Rhonda of New Brighton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Theresa and Mike Aiello of Rochester, and Samantha of New Brighton; 12 grandchildren, Dustin, Brice, Shawn, Mallory, Kaitlyn, Angel, Dylan, William, James, Jesse, Inez and Tabitha Renee; one great-granddaughter, April; one sister, Mary C. Tanksley of Mississippi, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ross and William, and two sisters, Virginia and Margaret.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Corelia Armstead, associate pastor of the Miracle Church
of God in Christ, Aliquippa, officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the cemetery to provide full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made in his name to the Flight 93 National Memorial Fund, c/o National Park Foundation, 1201 Eye St. N.W., Suite 550B, Washington, D.C., 20005.
