Carl L Smith

Carl 'Lee' Smith, 71, of Big Beaver, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 30, 2014, at his home.

Born October 21, 1942, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Dale S. and Margaret (Cumberledge) Smith, he served with the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. He was the owner and operator of C. Lee Smith Heating & Remodeling and was a member of Christ Church, New Brighton. Lee was also a member of the West Mayfield Vets and the American Legion Post #19, New Brighton.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Judith (Sloboda) Smith; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Jacqueline Smith, Chippewa Twp.; four grandchildren, David Raymond (Emily) Smith, Blake Fillinger and Erica L. Smith; one brother, Dale Smith, Beaver Falls; one sister, Margaret Rivetti, New Brighton; two brothers-in-law, Dick (Patty) Sloboda, Natrona Heights, and Donice (Taeko) Riley, Beaver Falls, and many beloved nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Louis Smith, on February 21, 2005, and one brother, George S. Smith.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in the Christ Church, New Brighton, with the Very Rev. John Park officiating.

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
