Carol Anne Elak

Carol Anne Elak, age 68, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, at Jefferson Hills Manor, Clairton, PA, where she lived the past 4 ½ years. Carol was born on May 5, 1954, to Victoria and Chester Elak of New Brighton, PA.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Rosemary (Don) Saunders of Sun Lakes, AZ, Connie Elak DiDonna of Oldsmar, FL, and Victoria (Gregg) Riley of Elizabeth, PA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Adam (Katie) Saunders of Glen Allen, VA, Joshua Saunders of Henrico, VA, Nicholas DiDonna of Winter Park, FL, Kayla (Kyle) Miller of Palm Harbor, FL, Leah (Matthew) Buck of Palm Harbor, FL, and Rebecca Marshall of Arlington, VA. Carol is also survived by several great nephews.

Carol attended New Horizon School for special needs individuals until 1975, when she turned 21. After graduation, Carol worked at the Beaver County Rehabilitation Center (BCRC), formerly known as the Lintz Sheltered Workshop until 2002 when she moved from Beaver County to North Huntingdon, PA. She continued to work at Mon Yough Community Services in McKeesport, PA until she was 64 years of age.

Carol lived a full life, enjoying bowling, weekly dances at BCRC, playing bingo, solving “Word Find” puzzles, watching movies and her favorite TV shows. Mostly, Carol enjoyed being with her loving family. Carol always had a smile on her face and brought joy to everyone she met.

Carol will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in New Brighton. A memorial celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
