Carol P. 'Toots' McGaffic

Carol P. McGaffic, 72, of Fallston, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011, in Kindred Hospital, Beaver.
Born August 28, 1938, in Fallston, she was the daughter of the late George and Bertha (Sullivan) Kopriva. Toots was a retired machine operator for Wolverine Plastics, Ellwood City, and also had worked for Economy and Foodland Supermarkets in New Brighton. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church and a life member of the U.C.C., both of New Brighton.
Surviving are her companion of 30 years, Larry R. Barkfelt; four children and their spouses: daughter Terry and James Westfall, Easley, SC; son Michael and Vicki McGaffic, Greenville, SC; daughter Lisa and Dan Markley, Liberty, SC, and daughter Melissa McGaffic, Brighton Township; two stepdaughters, Melzina Barkfelt, Kittanning, and Terry Barkfelt, Ellwood City; one stepson, Larry Barkfelt, Blountsville, AL; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madeline Ellis, New Brighton, and Judith Maybray, Katy, TX; one brother, George Kopriva, Marco Island, FL, and several nieces, nephews, their families and other family members.
Friends will be received Wednesday, August 10, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com . Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family R.C. Church, New Brighton, with Rev. Father Greg Swiderski officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
