Carrie Rae Mangano

August 29, 1974 — March 11, 2022

Carrie Rae Mangano was a caring wife, mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, and friend. Carrie was called home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2022, at the age of 47.  Carrie will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind.  Our hearts are broken by this unexpected loss.  She was truly one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

Carrie was born on August 29, 1974, in New Brighton, PA. and is the daughter of the late Anthony Mangano and Colleen Burkett.  Carrie loved spending time with her daughters, family, and friends.  She loved fiercely, deeply and although at times she could be strong-willed her heart was always in the right place.  She loved trips to Disney, taking her daughters to the zoo, and walking her dog Bronx. Carrie always looked forward to and enjoyed cookouts, football games, and holidays with the family.  We take comfort in knowing that Carrie is now at peace surrounded by light.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather William H. Nye, paternal grandparents Louis and Kathleen Mangano; father-in-law, John Mendenhall; stepfather, Terry Burkett; uncle, Louis Mangano, Jr.

Carrie is survived by the love of her life of 26 years, Mark Gordon; two daughters, Samantha and Taylor Gordon and her beloved dog Bronx. Carrie is also survived by her Siblings, Nicole Burkett, Brittany (Dan) Vaughn, and Devin Burkett, Grandmother, Rose Nye; mother-in-law, Carol Gordon; Aunts; Yvonne Mangano, Deborah Nye, Patricia (Mike) Karczewski, and Gina Belkowski; Uncles, Vince Mangano, James Nye, William “Lou” (Michelle) Nye; in-laws, Sheila (John) Goldinger; Anthony (Anna) Gordon; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families, and many friends she considered family.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 3pm until time of service at 6 p.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Ave, New Brighton.  Pastor Donald W. MacNeil, officiating.
