Charles  F. Bell, 94, of Beaver, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born November 16, 1921, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Frank and Nettie (March) Bell. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater. Chuck was retired from the former B&W Tube Products where he worked in the hot mill. He was a 70-year member of the Beaver Falls American Legion. He was a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men. He was a very sociable and loved being with family and friends having a good laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Kay (Shaffer) Bell; son, Jim McDanel, Patterson Heights; former daughters-in-law, JoAnn McDanel and Ruth Koloski; sisters, Florence Harper, Florida, and Mary Balmer, Beaver Falls; grandchildren, Robert (Sally) McDanel, Catherine (Rusty) Luzell, Ronald (Gary Lynn) McDanel, Matt (Renee) McDanel, Jimmy McDanel and Kristen (Bill) Eaton; 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia (Nesselroad) Bell; a son, DeWayne "Bunky" McDanel; two sisters, Amelia Mendenhall and Midge Ditoro, and three brothers, Paul, Tim and Ed Bell.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Scott Berkley officiating.

Entombment will follow the service at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Thursday at 10:15 a.m. in the cemetery to provide military honors.
