Charles F. Young Jr., 85, of White Twp., passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Friendship Ridge.

Born April 4, 1928, in New Brighton, PA, he was the son of the late Charles F. Sr. and Anna (Ledman) Young. Charles retired from J&L Steel after 36 years of service as an upsetter. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an avid pool player, enjoyed fishing, drawing, cooking, camping, and traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Beverly Lipnicky; one brother, James "Jack," and two sisters, Gertrude and Patricia.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Jeanne (Wolfe) Young; five stepsons, Harold, Scott, Jeff, Bernard and Jimmy; two stepdaughters, Deborah and Linda; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and their families.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. Private family funeral services will be held.
