Cynthia L. (Whippo) Labasik

Cynthia L. Labasik, 64, our beloved wife, mom, and Nana, entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born July 6, 1948 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Irene (McCusker) Whippo. Cindy was a graduate of Rochester High School. She loved the time spent with the "Lunch Bunch" at the New Brighton Cafeteria for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Whippo, and a sister, Judy Reeher.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Michael Labasik III; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael IV and Lynne Labasik, New Brighton; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Dan O'Neil, Beaver; two brothers, John Whippo and his wife Henrietta, Rochester, and Donnie Whippo and his wife Dee, Rochester; a sister, Donna Benko and her husband Marty, Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren that she was the best Nana in the world to the lights of her life, Kate Renee, Erin Danielle and Rachel Mary O'Neil, all of Beaver, Michael V and Sarah Elise Labasik, both of New Brighton, and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayers will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the St. Cecilia Parish, Rochester.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
