Daniel C. Plagman
Daniel C. Plagman, 61, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Daniel was the recipient of a double lung transplant six years ago.
Born May 13, 1953 in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Earlyn and Frances (Rocco) Plagman, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with U.S.M.C. and was retired from USAir, where he worked as a ramp agent. His favorite pastime was playing and managing in softball leagues.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Mary (Elefterin) Plagman; two daughters, Athena (Jeff) Shively, Butler, and Melissa Plagman, New Brighton; one son, Jon (Nicole Ludwig) Plagman, Rochester; nine grandchildren, Christopher Bacon, Nikolas Janectic, Briana Janectic, Kylee Janectic, Chloe Plagman, Tyler Shively, Colton Shively, Zane Plagman and Dylan Shively, and one niece, Michelle Harris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Giordano, who raised him, and one brother, Lynn Plagman.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.
Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home to provide military honors.
