David Allen Oshop, 77, of New Brighton, passed away peacefully on May 28th.
Born on October 22, 1948 in Freedom, Dave was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great grandfather, and loyal friend to many.
He was a graduate of Freedom High School class of 1966. Served four years in the National Guard Reserve. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 712 for 40 plus years.
Dave found his greatest joy in planning especially trips. He loved the outdoors. Whether he was hunting in woods, casting a line, or spending a day on the golf course, he treasured every moment spent doing the things he loved most. He especially enjoyed sharing those passions with family and friends, creating memories and stories that will live on for generations.
Above all else, Dave will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. He was the type of man who could always be counted on — a true friend and loving family man.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Kelsey (Rex) Pagani, Kristie (Eli) Milis, Kelley (Robert) Cardosi, Kasey (Bradley) Inman; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin and Ava Pagani; Sydney (Austin) Manor and Andrew Cardosi; Nathan and Noah Inman; great grandson Tate Manor; siblings Andrew (Linda) Oshop, Dolly (Bill) Jamieson, Dennis (Tana) Oshop; sisters-in-law, Darlene Oshop and Bonnie Reed, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Gertrude Oshop, his brother Daniel Oshop and brother-in-law Thomas Reed.
A private funeral service celebrating his life will be held for immediate family.
