David W. Young

David W. Young, 84, of Chippewa, passed away Friday November 11, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver.

Born December 12, 1937 in New Sewickley Twp. a son of the late Benjamin and Evelyn (Dewhirst) Young. Dave worked in construction his whole life for several companies. He was a lifetime member of the Highland VFW. He loved going to camp and cutting his grass with his grandchildren on his tractor.

Surviving are his wife Bonnie L. (Cumberledge) Young, two sons Leslie Young, E. Palestine, OH, Shane Young, Uniontown, two daughters Georgina Butler, Uniontown, Stacy Durst. Mt. Pleasant, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three brothers Richard Young, Daugherty Twp., Walter Young, Unionville, John Young, WV, two sisters Alice Davis, Freedom, Eleanor Hicks, Daugherty Twp., many nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by a grandson Shawn H. Durst, two bothers Robert Young and Donald Young.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 3:00pm until 7:00pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.  Wednesday funeral service will be held in St. John’s (Burry’s) Church, 1835 Rt. 68, Rochester at 10:00am with Pastor John Fanella officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
