Dennis James "Monk" Bensing
August 31, 1953 — June 13, 2017
Dennis J. "Monk" Bensing, 63, of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Brighton Rehab & Wellness Center.
Born August 31, 1953, in Jamestown, N.Y., he was a son of the late Paul K. and Louise L. (Cox) Bensing. Monk was a retired steelworker and had worked for the former B&W Tubular Steel, Moltrup Steel and Mayer China. He enjoyed playing pool and hanging out with his friends. But most of all, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bensing, and infant twin sisters.
Surviving are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Paul and Karen Bensing, Randy and Crystal Bensing, and Danny Bensing, all of New Brighton, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com., with Pastor Bill Blume officiating.
Cremation will take place after the service.
