Deronda A. "Dee" (DeMarco) Young, of Daugherty Twp., New Brighton, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Heritage Valley Medical Center, Beaver, following a brief stay.
Dee was born on January 4, 1943, in New Brighton. She was the daughter of the late Alfred (Cuddy) and Frances (Harlan) DeMarco and wife of the late Richard C. Young. In 1975, Dee was one of the co-founders of the New Brighton Women's Softball League. In 1976, she helped start the New Brighton Lassie Softball League for young girls and in 1977 the Women's County Softball League was started. Dee was an assistant track coach for the New Brighton girls team in the late 1980's for two years. She was very active in sports well into her sixties playing tennis and wallyball at the New Brighton YMCA. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Tom Greco, New Brighton, and Renee and Mike Watson, Spring, Texas, and one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Patty Young, New Brighton. She has 11 grandchildren, Stacy (Matt) Circle, Tony (Sara) Greco, Stephanie Greco, Zachary, Matthew and Chad Watson, Casie and Jake Young, Justin Hall, Zachary Robinson, and Amanda (Colby) Erwin; two great-grandsons, Evan and Garett Circle; two great-granddaughters, Natalie Circle and Ava Greco; one sister, Darlene Cobb, Phoenix, Ariz.; a nephew, Michael Cobb, and two great-nephews, Zaaron and Brannen Cobb.
In addition to her husband, Richard C. Young, Dee was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alfred and Francis DeMarco.
At her request, there will be no visitation or services.
The family requests memorials be made in her name to the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association, 3582 Brodhead Road, Monaca, PA 15061 or a charity of your choice.
