Dolores J. (Kennedy) McCandless, 86, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born September 3, 1929, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late John Herbert and Frances (Stanley) Kennedy. She was a retired LPN having worked at various facilities throughout the county. She attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Brighton and loved her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. McCandless, and her daughter, Donna R. McCandless Chapman.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary F. McCandless, New Brighton, and her companion Jim Miller, East Palestine, and Jean Ann McCandless, Beaver Falls, and her companion Bryan; four grandchildren, Dory, Donald (Becky), Stacey and Stephen; two great-grandchildren, Roxy and Zack; one brother, Charles H. (June) Kennedy, East Palestine; a brother-in-law, Jack (Donna) McCandless; a sister-in-law, Charlotte McCandless; longtime friend, Peggy Moul, and many nieces, nephews and Chapman step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Frank Kantz officiating.
Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made in her name to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Rd., Center Twp., PA 15001.
