Donald Eugene Cox

Donald Eugene Cox, 75, of Vanport, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Heritage Valley Beaver, after a courageous battle of lung cancer.
Born November 24, 1940, in Ravenswood, WV, he was the son of the late Woodrow W. and Mildred (Kimes) Cox. Donald was retired from St. Joe Lead, where he worked in the shipping and receiving department. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Beaver. Donald was currently working for Medic Rescue, was a board member for Tamaqui Village, and had served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Robbins) Cox, whom he married December 20, 1960; a son; Douglas E. Cox, Vanport; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna E. Cox, Midland, and Christene D. Cox and Cory Souffrant, Winchester, VA; four grandchildren, Jessica Vukich, Jeremee Vukich, R'eonna Beauford and Parker Souffrant; two brothers, Norman (Barbara) Cox, Freedom, and Charles (Susan) Cox, New Brighton, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. Friends will also be received Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Kantz and Rev. Freda Snyder officiating. The Beaver County Special Unit will meet at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. to provide full military honors for Donald.
Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
