Edmund K. Kroskey, 98, of New Brighton, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home.
Born June 22, 1916, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Francis and Veronica (Ditmer) Kroskey, he was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army and was retired from the former American Bridge Co. in Ambridge. Ed was a devoted family man and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of New Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marie (Gray) Kroskey, in 2012; one son, Paul Kroskey; two brothers, Anthony and Frank Kroskey, and four sisters, Sr. Ferdinand, Helen Tabay, Mary Kroskey and Catherine Seery.
Surviving are five sons, John (Susan) Kroskey, Freedom; Robert (Linda) Kroskey, New Brighton; Larry Kroskey, at home; Keith (Donna) Kroskey, Beaver Falls, and Sam (Kristin) Kroskey, Columbus, OH; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Kroskey, Oxnard, CA, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
