Edwin G. Murphy

Edwin G. Murphy, 62, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Kindred Hospital, Brighton Twp.

Born June 30, 1951 in New Brighton, a son of the late Edwin C. and Norma (George) Murphy. He had worked as a timekeeper for the former B&W Tubular Steel Co. and was a lifetime member of the F.O.E. No. 1342, New Brighton.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Karen (Colaizzi) Murphy; one son and daughter-in-law, Edwin G. Jr. and Kelly Murphy, Erie; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Anthony Cagliuso, Columbiana, OH; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Eddie Murphy, Marco, Luca and Mari Cagliuso.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark A. Murphy, in March 1983.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com and Saturday from 12 p.m. until time of blessing service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Father Tom Kredel officiating.

Private family interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
