Eli J. Sasaran
Eli J. Sasaran, 88, of Youngstown, OH, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Hospice House in Youngstown.
Born July 23, 1924, in New Brighton, a son of the late John and Mary (Meyers) Sasaran. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a machinist with the U.S. Navy. He then retired from the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Steel of Beaver Falls and enjoyed racing pigeons all his life.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Judy (Myers) Sasaran; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Steve Mamula, Hopewell Twp.; one son and daughter-in-law, Eli and Janice Sasaran, Fairfax, VA; six grandchildren, Stephen Mamula, Joseph (Tammy) Mamula, Marci (Mark) Sciullo, Elena Mamula and fiancé, Clark Creamer, Eli (Joy) Sasaran and Laura Sasaran; five great-grandchildren, Madison, Allison, Joey, Evan and Lazarus; two step-sons, Brian (Megan) Martin and Keith (Karen) Martin; three step-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Cindy and Francesca, several nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Sasaran; one infant son, George Sasaran; two brothers, John and George Sasaran.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of blessing service at 11 a.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with Rev. Father Tom Kredel, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
