Elizabeth S. (Chleba) Crudden, 95, of New Brighton, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, at Franciscan Manor, after a brief illness.

Born August 11, 1917, in Monaca, a daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Yatsick) Chleba, Elizabeth was a retired co-owner of Rosalind Candy Castle of New Brighton, where she started working at the age of 15 and continued working everyday until the age of 89. She was a longtime member of the Retail Confectioners International and the Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton. She was a graduate of Monaca High School Class of 1934.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Crudden, on October 30, 1989, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Crudden, on January 17, 2000. She was the last survivor of a family of twelve, preceded by three brothers and eight sisters.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carol Crudden, New Brighton; a granddaughter, Jennifer Crudden, Sewickley; a grandson, Michael Crudden, Hopewell Twp.; a sister-in-law, Lillian Chleba, Beaver Falls, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made in her name to Holy Family Catholic Church, 1851 Third Avenue, New Brighton, PA 15066.

The family would like to thank Franciscan Manor and Odyssey Hospice and staffs for their exceptional care and kindness they gave Elizabeth during her stay.
