Evelyn Jean Mitsch

Evelyn Jean (Harris) Mitsch, 103, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away Sunday January 30, 2022 at the home of her daughter in North Sewickley Twp.

Jean was born March 6, 1918 in New Brighton a daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Houlette) Harris. Jean was a former piano teacher and studied at the Pittsburgh Institute of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music. She was accompanist for the Dance Masters of America, Doris Singer Dance Studio and the Ballet Master of the New York City Ballet. She was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eber “Bud” Mitsch Jr., a brother Earl Harris, an infant sister Marion and foster daughter Charlene Wallace.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lynn (Ronald) Benson, Norfolk, Nebraska and Emily (Gary) Bischoff of North Sewickley Twp., five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Friends will be received Saturday from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 2:00pm in the J&J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton.

Private interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.

The family wish memorials be made in her name to either the Concord United Methodist Church or the Beaver County Heart & Cancer Association, 3582 Brodhead Rd., St. 201, Monaca, PA 15061.
