Frank D. McCarthy Jr. New Brighton Frank D. McCarthy Jr., 87, of New Brighton, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born May 30, 1931, in New Brighton, the son of the late Francis and Josephine (Sentak) McCarthy. He was a retired machinist at the former B&W Tubular Steel of Beaver Falls and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Brighton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Ricciardi) McCarthy, 2012; four brothers-in-law, Michael (Ruby) and Joseph Ricciardi, John LaRocca and Clarence Radcliffe; and four sisters-in-law, Lena Tooch, Martha Dinardo , Josephine Ciani and Angeline DeProspo. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Tonia McCarthy, New Brighton; two grandsons, PFC Christopher McCarthy, U.S. Army, Ft. Carson, Colo., and Cameron McCarthy, at home; a special nephew, Mike LaRocca; two sisters, Gertrude Radcliffe, Sarasota, Fla., and Eleanor LaRocca, Chicago, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Mary Ricciardi; and several nieces, nephews and their families. Friends will be received Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Tom Kredel officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton
