Fred William "Bill" Lake, 83, of New Brighton, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Care Home, Mars.

Born August 15, 1931, in New Brighton, he was a son of the late Albert and Ruth (Beight) Lake. Bill was a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church, Lighthouse for the Blind, New Brighton, Association for the Blind, Beaver Falls, Monaca Center Lions Club, and Lodge for the Blind, Lewistown, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann (Abplanolp) Lake; one brother, Richard Adlof, and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Dean and Marie Salberg.

Surviving are two sisters, Elsie Pryor, Evans City, and Nona Carpenter, Hookstown; one brother, James Adlof, Rochester; sister-in-law, Ruth Gosnell, Hartford, OH, and several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, nephews and their families.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Scott Berkley officiating

Private interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Ridgeway, Elk County.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lighthouse for the Blind, New Brighton or the Association for the Blind, Beaver Falls
